BARAARO CENTER for Socioeconomic and Development Research was founded in Somalia as an independent, non-profit research and capacity building center in 2023. The formation of the center resulted from the dire need for an independent research and policy analysis in
socioeconomic landscape in Somalia and the huge skill shortage in the public institutions working in the socioeconomic and development sectors. BARAARO CENTER aims to advocate for institutional and policy reforms through evidence-based research and policy analysis in major socioeconomic issues such as macroeconomic policy challenges, barriers to private enterprise development, gaps in the social service delivery and the limitations of the peace building and conflict resolution approaches in Somalia

Mission
BARAARO CENTER will partner with the national and international organizations and institutions involved in the socioeconomic and development sectors to provide evidence based research, policy advice and capacity building programs to Somali governments at federal and state levels.
